Ivy Tan

Ivy Tan is a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), Certified Autism Specialist (CAS), and the founder of Life Tunes Music Therapy. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychology at Harvard University, further deepening her expertise in neurodiversity and mental health.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a major in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology, Ivy has extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals and mental health populations. She has worked with diverse communities across Malaysia and Los Angeles, USA, and is the past president of the Malaysian Music Therapy Association (MMTA).
As a recognized advocate for neurodiversity and mental health, Ivy has been featured in prominent media outlets, including MIX FM and Travellution Media (Singapore), where she shared insights on her music therapy work. She is also a sought-after speaker, having delivered talks and workshops at conferences, universities, and organizations—reaching over 2,700 participants across Malaysia and the USA.
Currently based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, Ivy specializes in music therapy for autistic individuals and their families, as well as individuals navigating mental health challenges. She actively conducts corporate training, workshops, and public talks, helping organizations and caregivers understand the power of music in therapeutic interventions.
Under Ivy’s leadership, Life Tunes Music Therapy is expanding its reach, providing accessible, evidence-based therapy and resources to more individuals across Malaysia and internationally. Passionate about advocacy and empowerment, she remains committed to helping her clients thrive through music, with the tag line- “changing lives, one tune at a time.”
